EAR #23 Dear choral colleagues I hope this message finds you well and making music! It’s been a while since we sent out our EAR newsletter. December and January were slow months, and we also had to cancel an event. Pro Coro is now gearing up to present one concert per month to the end of the season. We have great repertoire in stock, including our 2022 edition of PIVOT with the Canadian League of Composers. You might recall the concert in November - Moonshot III: what time is left - with the 2020 cohort of PIVOT. This season features both editions: 12 composers - 12 world premieres. I am also excited to work with Emerging Artists in person during the upcoming concerts. Our EAR program has provided mentorship to conductors, composers and singers from across Canada, the US, South America and Europe over the last 6 years. And, after a short hiatus where our programming went online, we’re back to in-person experiences. In a couple of weeks we will welcome Jessie Pierpont to work with the choir and conduct the Missa Rigensis by Praulins in our March 5 concert. You will learn more about her, and the process as an emerging artist, over the course of the next newsletters. We are booked for the remainder of this season, and already into next, but if you are a young composer, conductor or singer, and you would like to have a hands-on experience with one of Canada’s top professional choirs, please send us an email.
