December 7, 2021 Dear Friends and Supporters of Pro Coro Canada, As the Holidays are just a couple of weeks away, we’re preparing for our traditional Advent concert, The Little Match Girl Passion by David Lang. It will be the 9th time our quartet of singers performs this work, accompanying themselves on percussion instruments. I always perceive this work, and this meditative concert event, as a counterpoint to the busyness of December. Only a year ago we were encouraged to stay home and not venture into shops or meet with friends and family, and my December was the calmest I’ve experienced in the last 10 years. Now, in December 2021, we’re back into our familiar schedule, with rehearsals, and concerts, and everything else we feel we need to catch up on. So I invite you to come to this one-hour concert at All Saints’ Anglican Cathedral on December 19. Experience the darkness, the solitude and sparse musical work that tells the story of a child forgotten.
