It is April, and - who wouldn’t be surprised - it is snowing here in Edmonton! I am writing to you after the long Easter weekend with our annual Good Friday concert. The choir performed a magnificent and moving selection centered around the Stabat Mater, with the Canadian premier of a work for women’s choir and double bass by Nicola Burnett Smith. Nicola, who travelled to Edmonton from London, UK, is spending some more days in the Rocky Mountains, retracing old memories from her visit as a child in the late 60’s. We were honoured to also have Robertson-Wesley’s music director Allan Bevan in our audience as we performed his The Eclipse. You can still watch the concert on tv.prococo.ca.
