Dear Friends and Supporters of Pro Coro Canada,

If you were secretly listening at the door of our most recent rehearsals you’d be wondering if there were actually humans in the room … You’d be hearing high-pitched whistling sounds - ‘is that a radiator?’ - or a low rumbling growl, ‘maybe a creaking door?’

Well, we’re in the middle of preparing for our upcoming concert on Sunday, and we’ll be premiering 6 new works. The music you will hear is diverse and explores the possibilities of the human voice. The choir is pushing their, and your, understanding of what a choral work can sound like, and we’re very excited about the different and new sounds. The composers are arriving tomorrow, and you won’t want to miss meeting them on Sunday!

After our November concert Moonshot III, which also featured 6 new works, I worked with the students of the Design program at the University of Alberta (Prof. Judy Armstrong) and introduced them to the new music. Their assignment was to create a vinyl cover for one of the compositions, and their works will be exhibited at the concert on Sunday. This is a unique addition to our exploration of new works!

New Date: Audition for Pro Coro Canada

Pro Coro Canada is always on the lookout for unique and talented singers who are interested in joining Edmonton’s premier professional choral ensemble. Consider auditioning for Pro Coro to join an accomplished musical team performing contemporary and classical choral masterworks in a wide range of languages and styles. We are auditioning for both core and extra positions capable of accommodating different time commitments.

In-person auditions will be held on June 4, 2022

Happy Birthday, Laura!

Happy Birthday - on Thursday - to our Administrative Lead Laura Ouellette! As you can see, Laura is also right at home in the rock scene of Edmonton when she’s not at the office and keeping the choir running smoothly!
