What a great performance weekend we had, presenting 6 world premiers by Canadian composers! It is in those moments that Pro Coro actively shapes Music History! We don’t know which composers and compositions will be listened to still in 100 or 500 years, or on which medium. What we have created this past week, alongside the active involvement of the emerging composers, is the coming-to-life of an artistic vision, a new sound and maybe a ground shifting realisation for these artists - or for the listeners and performers! Pro Coro is at PODIUM in Toronto this weekend! After a hiatus due to the global pandemic, choral leaders, singers, managers and music pedagogues are gathering at this national conference, hosted by Choral Canada, from Thursday through to Monday. Great choral groups are performing, and specialists will present on a wide range of choral-related topics. We are promoting our upcoming season, our Emerging Artist program, and new works by 20 Canadian composers we performed in the last two years. I am presenting a session on choral techniques on Monday morning. Come and find us if you’re at PODIUM!
