1. What was the last TV show you watched? HunterxHunter! This is a fantasy/adventure anime from 2011, which I'm working my way through. There are a lot of episodes, and thankfully all of them are available on Netflix! I found over the course of the pandemic that my tastes in media changed from more "serious" drama shows to lighter comedies and cartoons. Even now that life is returning to somewhat "normal", I'm still finding myself captivated by the art and storytelling in cartoons in general, and anime in particular. 2. What is one item that you can't spend a day without? A good cup of coffee. 3. Would you rather go to a beach or hiking? The beach! I love the feel of sunshine on my skin and the sounds of waves on the sand, whether they're gentle or powerful. I can spend hours just standing on the edge of the water line and have my feet covered by waves, and I'll be absolutely content. 4. Opera or Broadway? How can you possibly make me choose?! But if I had to pick, I think opera wins by a hair. There's so much that's great about both art forms, and so much that overlaps between them: but I think I prefer the singing style in opera to a Broadway belt, even when both are well done. 5. What is your favourite part of singing in Pro Coro? How can you possibly make me choose?! But ok, I suppose I can if I have to. There are moments in concerts where all of the emotions in rehearsals just come to a culmination: whether the emotions are around the themes and lyrics of a piece, or whether they're around how successful we've been at singing a particularly difficult section. Even when we're super well-rehearsed, concerts still feel like they have an element of "anything-can-happen". When you are on the cusp of an "anything-can-happen" moment, and something unexpected but amazing happens - and the choir knows, and Michael knows, and the audience knows? THAT is my favourite part of singing in Pro Coro.
