It’s our second concert of the season and we are excited to bring you an afternoon filled with romantic melodies and music. Experience the masterful pieces of Brahms, Poulenc, Fauré, Bevan, Watson-Henderson, and Schumann with our guest, Leanne Regehr, a distinguished and accomplished pianist.

Shades of Love will feature several of our professional singers as soloists, and the choir will also perform the North American premiere of The Bride’s Dream by Norwegian composer Torbjørn Dyrud.

Meet our Guest. Leanne Regehr is an accomplished and versatile pianist, her reputation in opera has grown through engagements as a répétiteur with Shreveport Opera, Mercury Opera, and Edmonton Opera. She is the featured soloist in a live recording of Victor Davies' Mennonite Piano Concerto with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. 

Her performances have graced renowned organizations including the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, Pro Coro Canada, Da Camera Singers, Luminous Voices, and the Academy Concert Series in Toronto.

Leanne completed her Doctor of Music in Piano Performance at Northwestern University and explored further studies at the Banff School of Fine Arts, the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, and the Aspen Music Festival. She currently serves on the faculties of the University of Alberta and The King's University.

The hall proudly houses the Muttart Steinway, an impressive 9-foot concert grand piano, generously donated in honor of the Foundation's 50th anniversary.

In 2018, the Conservatory embarked on an extensive journey, broadening its outreach in music programs, fostering fresh collaborations with local communities, and providing support for a concert series commemorating the Foundation's remarkable sapphire anniversary.

Any favorite musicians/singers/bands?

My favorite singer is definitely Harry Styles. People don’t give enough credit for how complex his lyrics are.

What are you looking forward to in Pro Coro Canada?

I’m looking forward to growing my skills as a videographer in such a fun and challenging space within Pro Coro Canada.

Which performance are you excited about, and why?

The performance I am most excited about is A Christmas Carol. I can’t wait to see how the choir will take Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and make it their own.
