A funny moment in rehearsal: I had left my tuning fork in the soprano section during a break and had only realized when I returned to my place in mixed formation... all the way across the room in the bass section. Through the choir brain synergy, we must have acquired after going on hour 7 of weekend rehearsals, and the combined efforts of over half the back row, my tuning fork was swiftly and... somewhat discreetly returned to me. Most memorable choral experience ever: Performing the same final song as the choir before us in Riga, Latvia for the World Choir Games. We lined up in the back as they were starting that song and all our faces turned to panic. When it came to our final song, we finished with a unified resounding stomp, our addition to the score, and the last note hung suspended in the air of the grand cathedral as we witnessed one judge bring his tuning fork to his ear with an awestruck face.
