Award of Distinction for Artistic Director Michael Zaugg

Pro Coro Canada’s Board of Directors, staff and the choir congratulate Managing and Artistic Director Michael Zaugg on the CON SPIRITO Award, which was presented to Michael by Choir Alberta, in-person on Saturday, October 22, at the annual Music Conference Alberta Award Concert.

We are excited about the acknowledgement of Michael’s involvement in the Alberta Choral Community. His work with Pro Coro Canada over the past decade includes the Emerging Artist Program, the commissioning of many local composers and collaborations with community choral organisation from Calgary to Camrose to Edmonton and Grande Prairie. In celebration of Choir Alberta's 25th Anniversary (1997), the Con Spirito Award recognizes the spirit and dedication of individuals and their commitment to choral music in their local community. A limited number of awards are presented annually to persons selected by an appointed committee of the Choir Alberta Board from a list of candidates nominated by Choir Alberta members. Nominations may be made on the basis of any significant contribution to choral music in any community.
