Dear Friends and supporters of Pro Coro Canada After so many months of isolation and restrictions, and the feelings of distance and uncertainty that have accompanied our current landscape, I am thrilled to announce that Pro Coro Canada has officially been granted permission to perform our annual Good Friday concert. This announcement came after yesterday’s provincial health update, and we were graciously informed that our previous request to perform on Good Friday had now been approved. The concert will be live-streamed to you on ProCoro TV as in-person audiences are still not allowed. I invite you to join us on Friday, April 2, between 7:30 - 9:00 pm MST, for our annual Good Friday performance, and to contemplate this season of sacrifice, hope, and rebirth. In light of our upcoming Good Friday concert, I would like to share Pro Coro’s performance of Anton Bruckner's sacred motet Christus Factus Est. The choir was joined by the University of Alberta Madrigal Singers on Good Friday 2015 to perform this haunting and gradually intensifying work at the Winspear Centre. We invite you to find a reflective moment to enjoy this performance, to place yourself in that space, and feel the dramatic waves of increasing expressiveness and sombre beauty of this piece.
