We are delighted to announce the commencement of our highly anticipated 23-24 Season with the powerful a cappella work, "Path of Miracles." This musical journey promises to captivate our audience with the tale of the centuries-old pilgrimage.

Path of Miracles will take you on a divine expedition through the realms of Joby Talbot’s composition. Under the direction of Pro Coro Canada’s Managing & Artistic Director Michael Zaugg, the ensemble will breathe life into a musical journey that will evoke emotions and inspire introspection.

Born in London in 1971, Joby Talbot studies composition privately with Brian Elias. He furthered his studies at Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, culminating in a Master of Music (Composition) from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama under Simon Bainbridge.

Talbot boasts a wide-ranging portfolio, encompassing full-length narrative ballets like "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" (2011) and "The Winter's Tale" (2014), as well as contemporary dance pieces such as "Chroma" (2007). His repertoire also includes both small- and large-scale choral and vocal compositions including "The Wishing Tree" (2002), "Path of Miracles" (2005), and "A Sheen of Dew on Flowers" (2019).

Effa taught at the Mambilla Baptist Theological Seminary and conducted courses in the Philippines and Russia. Currently, he is the Ray and Edith DeNeui Professor of Intercultural Studies at Taylor Seminary in Edmonton, where he's been teaching since 1993.

Effa's recent highlights include leading students on pilgrimages along the Camino de Santiago in Spain. He also serves as the secretary for the American Society of Missiology.

Founded in 1904 by Ukrainian settlers and the Catholic hierarchy of Western Canada, St. Josaphat’s Cathedral stands as a testament to their unity. Today, it serves as the seat of the Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton, and is a vital hub for the community.
