Dear friends and supporters of Pro Coro Canada

We’re getting ready for our livestream concert “Motets” this coming Sunday. As we’re sure you know, new restrictions came into place last Thursday, presented by Government of Alberta officials and the Chief Medical officer, including a ban on group singing.

As a professional choral organization, working with professional singers in professional venues, Pro Coro Canada is exempt from these restrictions. We have been rehearsing and performing under rigorous measures since August: distanced, with masks, in venues with good ventilation and with breaks every half hour. Our singers feel comfortable and of course enjoy once again making music together. There has been no transmission related to choral singing in Edmonton.

While we have a great concert ready for you this weekend, the health of our singers and our staff is our top priority. We hope that all the members of our choir are available for the performance, but we might have to pivot in our selection of the repertoire. To quote a choral work we recorded recently ‘there will be singing in the end’, and I look forward to presenting our singers and their work this Sunday in whatever shape and form it will be. Season ticket passports are available for purchase through the Pro Coro website or by calling our office at 780-420-1247.

AGM on November 22nd
3:45 to 4:15 pm

We invite you to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Pro Coro Society on Sunday November 22nd from 3:45 to 4:15 pm.

This year’s AGM will be held virtually and during the intermission of our televised “Motets” concert. Participation at the meeting is be via Zoom Video-Conference. In-person attendance is not be possible due to current requirements for social distancing. Please register for our AGM by clicking this link. All materials will be available on our AGM page, and you will be sent materials the week prior directly to your email address (requires registration via link above).

We ask anyone interested in actively participating at this year’s AGM to peruse the documents on our webpage and submit any questions and comments by email by Saturday, November 21 to the Chair of the Board of Directors.

Of course, you will be able to attend Annual General Meeting without purchase of a ticket, but prior registration is required.
