Let Us Cheer the Weary Traveller with Brainerd Blyden-Taylor was another momentous event for Edmonton’s professional choral ensemble. Pro Coro Canada performed alongside The Archbishop MacDonald High School choir in an afrocentric program including Lift Every Voice and Sing, celebrating the 125th anniversary of the poem by James Weldon Johnson, and Cantata for a more hopeful tomorrow by Damien Geter.

The guest conductor invited everyone to reflect on the words of the program’s repertoire such as “go back to the parts of you that house ambitions..”, “look everywhere: the deepest stars…”, and “nothing is ever really lost, or can be lost…”
