Experience this powerful a cappella work about the centuries-old pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in one of Edmonton’s most mystical sacred spaces. Featuring an introduction by guest professor Allan Effa, a seasoned pilgrim, who will recount his spiritual journey across the Spanish highlands.

Sing into the Silence

Listen to the combined sonorities with the Edmonton Youth Choir (dir. Samara and Andrew Börtz) in a kaleidoscope of diverse music including a new work brought to fruition through a cross-Canada commission.


Including the special occasion of honouring a prominent Canadian church musician with the title Fellow of the Summer Institute of Canada (F.SICM). In 2023 the honouree is Dr Jacobus Kloppers, Edmonton organist, composer, musicologist, educator and longtime faculty member at the King's University.  The honour will be presented by the Summer Institute of Canada, and celebrated with the performance of Sing and Make Music by former Pro Coro Canada associate conductor and singer Trent Worthington, under the guest-direction of Dr Evelyn Grieger with Christopher Dawes at the organ.
