My Pro Coro Soundtrack
Written by Riza Galang, Marketing and Communications Lead
It’s hard to believe how quickly time flies.
When I joined Pro Coro Canada as the Marketing and Communications Lead in Season 22.23, I knew I was stepping into an organization filled with extraordinary music and talents. And now, several seasons later, I can honestly say - time flies fast when you enjoy what you do and when you get to work with brilliant people.
Over the years, I’ve experienced so many concerts that have stayed with me for different reasons. I’m excited to share my favourite Pro Coro Canada concerts and performances since I started in Season 22.23.
Moonshot IV - Season 22.23
Electrifying. It was an easy stand-out, especially as part of that back-to-back concert experience. The Dayking and Jane Berry’s Blood, Breath and Other Miracles remain unforgettable for me.
The Tower & the Garden - Season 22.23
The Vaughan String Quartet hits different. I’m a lover of string instruments, so hearing the quartet alongside Pro Coro Canada was a particular treat.
Let Us Cheer the Weary Traveler - Season 24.25
One word: Brainerd! This was another concert that I’ll always associate with the incredible personalities and artists who make Pro Coro Canada what it is.
The works of Jeannie Vanwynsberghe Pernal and Michael Zaugg, performed with the Grande Prairie Boys' Choir, Edmonton's Swiss Men's Choir, and Pro Coro Canada, created a wonderful sound and experience. This concert was simply heartwarming and entertaining.
Some individual performances deserve their own shout-out as well:
Bakunawa from Furiouser & Spuriouser in Season 24.25, conducted by my friend Kitbielle Pasagui, is an easy favourite.
And then there’s Lost Boy and Foundling from The Emperor’s New Clothes in Season 24.25, conducted by our very own Kim Denis. These performances remain firmly on my personal list of Pro Coro Canada’s highlights.

Looking back at these seasons, I realize that my favourites aren’t just about the music. They’re about the people, the creativity, the unexpected moments, and the feeling of being part of something that continues to change and evolve.
Reaching out to the media, planning content, showcasing artists and concerts, identifying advertising opportunities, and preparing marketing reports are just some of the responsibilities I handle. But beyond the day-to-day work, behind every concert we bring to life, what I find most fulfilling is the connection that Pro Coro Canada creates.
You don’t need to be a musician to connect. You don’t need to be a writer to relate. You don’t need to be a millionaire to understand the lyrics and melodies.
You just need to be you.
Feel the music and unleash the authenticity within you.
That’s what Pro Coro Canada brings to each of us, and no marketing strategy can surpass the vision and excellence that the choir delivers. With the quality of voices, artistry, and music that Pro Coro creates, it is not difficult for a marketer like me to tell its story.
Time flies when you enjoy what you do. I’m grateful for the singers, musicians, artists, conductors, composers, Pro Coro Canada patrons, and most importantly, my colleagues, including the volunteers, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make each performance magical.
And as I look back on all these moments, I’m going back to ProCoroTV to see what I can add to my Pro Coro soundtrack.
