Over the last 40 years, each artistic director and guest-conductor of Pro Coro Canada has brought new works and new techniques to the ensemble’s history. Under the direction of the Managing & Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, Michael Zaugg, Pro Coro Canada has commissioned and premiered over 50 works, most by Canadian composers.

From 2018 to 2020, the ensemble was in residence at the Banff Centre and, within the Choral Art program, has created and premiered works by international emerging artists. As part of Pro Coro Canada’s Emerging Artist program (EAR), the choir regularly supports and works with local composers to create new, sometimes their very first, choral music.
